Eligibility: West Hants
Dial-A-Ride provides
service to persons living in West Hants. Transportation will be
offered to seniors, persons with disabilities, persons with low or
fixed incomes, and youth. In order to be considered for
membership you may need to provide financial information and/or
contacts who can verify your information.
Membership fee: There is a twenty dollar
($20.00) membership fee, which will be required upon the
acceptance of your membership. This is a yearly membership fee
and entitles you to the benefits of our transportation system. If
you have a spouse or child 13 years of age and older that you
would like added to your membership they may join for an
additional $5 fee. (* family members must live in the same
household in order to qualify) There is no charge for children 12
and under, however, they must be accompanied by a parent who is a
West Hants Dial-A-Ride member in order to use the service.
Cost of
service: There is a charge for service
based on the distance traveled. The cost is $5.00 from anywhere in
West Hants to Windsor. To Halifax from Windsor is $48.00 return.
To Kentville or New Minas from Windsor, the charge is $35.00 return.
Fees will be reduced if more than 1 person is travelling on route
from the same community. Please refer to the Additional Fee
Information, included within the booklet. Members are also
responsible for any parking fees incurred.
