Job Search Assistance
As a Service Navigator / Intake Worker I will always make sure you can find the appropriate location or department you may need. I will also book your appointments in person or over the phone if you need to see one of our staff members. I receive and process applications while assessing the client's needs, so I can refer you to the appropriate person(s) or department.
I assist and work very closely with the Employment Counsellors and Job Coach, from job searching to applying for jobs on behalf of their client(s). Other duties I assist with include, helping with the preparation of workshops/courses and creating and producing booklets for teaching material.
In addition to the above, my main job is resume development. I work closely with any client to create or improve their resume for all their job searching needs. I keep a file for each client ensuring a record of where they have applied; this helps the client for future reference. Once the resume is developed, I will do up a package for the client so we can begin the job searching process. The resume is also kept on file so I can make changes quickly and be able to e-mail companies on behalf of the client, when they want to apply for jobs.
